Open any mining guide from 2021–2022 and you will find T-Rex, NBMiner, Gminer and TeamRedMiner. In October 2026 none of them has been updated in more than two years. They may still start, but they know nothing about new algorithms, current drivers or new cards (RTX 50xx, RX 9000). This article lists eleven miners by the date of their last release, sums up what changed in September, walks through each miner and ends with a "what to install" cheat sheet for NVIDIA, AMD, Intel and CPU.

📌 Status as of October 3, 2026: versions and dates were taken from the Releases pages of the official GitHub repositories, dates in UTC. Since the previous edition of September 8, four miners have shipped updates: SRBMiner-Multi, BzMiner, OneZeroMiner and WildRig Multi. Always grab Latest before installing — several more releases may land within a week.

How we assign a status. We go by the date of the latest release as of October 3, 2026:

  • active — a release within the last 30 days;
  • maintained — the latest release is 1 to 12 months old;
  • frozen — 1 to 3 years without a release: the miner still works on its own algorithms, but it will not get support for new cards and coins;
  • abandoned — more than 3 years without a release; useless for new cards and coins.

We count a miner as maintained if it shipped a release within the last 12 months. In the table that covers the "active" and "maintained" statuses.

💡 On September 21, 2026, lolMiner passed 12 months since its last release. Under this rule its status changed from "a year without updates" to "frozen".

Release timeline of eleven miners: from NBMiner 42.3 (2022) to OneZeroMiner v1.7.8 (October 2026)

What changed in September

  • New quantus algorithm (Quantus Network) landed in three miners within a month: SRBMiner-Multi 3.6.4 (September 9), BzMiner v100.20 (September 11) and OneZeroMiner v1.7.8 (October 3). For pool setup, see how to mine Quantus on a GPU.
  • Pearl (pearlhash) is still the main race: all four active miners shipped optimizations, and OneZeroMiner added pearlhash for the first time (v1.7.5, September 10).
  • Intel Arc got real support: quantus in SRBMiner 3.7.0, big Pearl gains on Battlemage in BzMiner v100.36 and v100.45.
  • Fees. SRBMiner 3.6.7 lowered the fee on noid and quantus to 2%. Since v100.23 BzMiner lists a 2% fee on Pearl.
  • lolMiner moved to "frozen"; no other miner changed status.

⚠️ Important. Pearl is preparing an FP8 hard fork. In the code of the new scheme, RTX 50xx is the only consumer card family left. In the SRBMiner 3.6.8 release notes the developer also warns that the Pearl upgrade will make consumer GPUs nearly useless. No activation date has been announced. What is known and what to do with RTX 30 and 40 cards — see Pearl FP8 hard fork.

Four miners with releases in the last month

Almost all the activity revolves around two algorithms: pearlhash (the Pearl coin, PRL) and quantus. The miners are racing for hashrate and ship several releases a week. For the Pearl coin itself, see how to mine Pearl on a GPU and the Pearl forks timeline.

SRBMiner-Multi 3.7.1

The most universal of the maintained miners: NVIDIA, AMD, Intel Arc and CPU in one binary. Eight versions shipped since September 8:

  • 3.6.4 (September 9) — quantus algorithm for NVIDIA and AMD RDNA, 2.5% fee, --tls-cert-sha256 parameter for pools on the QUIC protocol.
  • 3.6.5–3.6.7 (September 11–13) — faster quantus on NVIDIA and AMD, the neuromorph algorithm removed, the fee on noid and quantus lowered to 2%, auto-tune re-runs after the miner version changes.
  • 3.6.8–3.6.9 (September 19–21) — pearlhash on NVIDIA: first a hashrate gain (mostly RTX 30xx), then the same or better hashrate at noticeably lower power draw. quantus now runs on Polaris (RX 4xx/5xx).
  • 3.7.0 (September 28) — quantus on Intel Arc, hashrate stats over 1 min, 15 min, 1 h and 6 h. Integrated GPUs are no longer picked automatically; enable them with --enable-igpu.
  • 3.7.1 (September 29) — faster quantus on AMD and Intel.

In HiveOS, SRBMiner installs as a Custom miner. Choose "Custom" in the Flight Sheet, paste the link to srbminer_custom-3.7.1.tar.gz from the release page into Installation URL, and set --algorithm, --pool and --wallet manually in Extra config arguments. The developer advises against HiveOS placeholders. Step-by-step Hive OS setup from scratch is in Hive OS: install, set up and run a miner — the complete guide.

Who should use it: mixed AMD + NVIDIA rigs, Pearl and Quantus, any brand-new algorithm — SRBMiner usually adds them first. Batch-file setup and commands are covered in SRBMiner-Multi setup and commands.

BzMiner v100.45

Nine releases since September 8, from v100.20 (September 11) to v100.45 (October 2). What matters:

  • v100.20 — new algorithms Quantus (CPU, NVIDIA, AMD), Nexa (CPU and NVIDIA) and Cuckaroo29 (NVIDIA and AMD, including RDNA 4). Pearl accepts certificate-v4 (FP8) jobs. New --duplicate-devices parameter.
  • v100.21 — Pearl 2.5x faster on Vega 20, CDNA and RDNA 2, Cuckaroo29 on 6 GB cards, Quantus through quanpool over the QUIC protocol.
  • v100.23 — 2% fee on Pearl, AMD cards no longer need HIP drivers, a new auto-update option.
  • v100.36 — a big Pearl gain on RDNA 4 and Intel Battlemage. A watchdog was added for workers that could previously crash and silently stop submitting shares.
  • v100.40–v100.45 — Pearl optimizations on NVIDIA and AMD, faster Quantus on AMD and NVIDIA 30xx/50xx, fixes for NVIDIA overclocking on Windows and pool reconnects.

bzproxy mode is still there: one instance holds the pool connection (--proxy_port 4100), and the other rigs on the LAN connect to it with -p bzproxy://PROXY_IP:4100. The web dashboard opens at http://127.0.0.1:4014/.

Coins listed in the v100.45 notes: Tari, Conceal, Ryo, Ergo, ETC, ETHW, Ravencoin, Neurai, Neoxa, Meowcoin, Clore, Nexa, Pearl, Quantus, Monero, Zephyr, Salvium, Verus, Warthog, Xelis. Builds for Windows, Linux, macOS, Docker and a Custom package for HiveOS.

Who should use it: multi-rig farms (bzproxy), RDNA 3/4 and Intel Battlemage owners mining Pearl, anyone who wants a web dashboard out of the box.

OneZeroMiner v1.7.8

Almost nine months without a release ended on September 10. OneZeroMiner came back with Pearl support and shipped four versions in less than a month:

  • v1.7.5 (September 10) — initial pearlhash support on NVIDIA RTX 20xx/30xx/40xx, 1% fee.
  • v1.7.6 (September 10) — fixed high CPU usage and the connection to the Kryptex pool.
  • v1.7.7 (October 1) — pearlhash on Blackwell and Hopper (RTX 50xx, H100/H200/H800, B200), a significant gain on older generations. A --kernel parameter (1 or 2) for some Ampere and Ada cards.
  • v1.7.8 (October 3) — Quantus algorithm on NVIDIA from Pascal to Blackwell, 2% fee. An --intensity parameter for Quantus: 6 to 12, default 8; at 11–12 the risk of stale shares grows. About 2% more pearlhash on A100 and CMP 170HX.

Besides Pearl and Quantus, the miner handles Dynex and Xelis. On AMD only Xelis is available, and the developer calls that implementation untested.

Who should use it: NVIDIA rigs on Pearl or Quantus, if you want to compare hashrate against SRBMiner and BzMiner on your own cards.

WildRig Multi 0.51.3

Focused on pearlhash. Version 0.51.2 (September 11) brought stability fixes, slightly better efficiency on RTX 50xx, faster pearlhash on Tesla V100, and fixed and faster pearlhash on AMD RX 6000/7000/9000. Version 0.51.3 (September 25) improved pearlhash power efficiency on NVIDIA by up to 10%. The dev fee is 0% on the pearlhash.xyz pool, as the developer reminded in the 0.51.1 notes.

Who should use it: NVIDIA and AMD RDNA 2/3/4 rigs on Pearl, if you want to save on the dev fee. Which AMD cards make sense on Pearl — see mining Pearl on AMD.

Maintained, but rarely updated

Rigel 1.23.2

An NVIDIA miner that replaced T-Rex for many people in 2023–2024. Recent versions prune old algorithms. 1.23.0 (December 2025) added xelishashv3; 1.23.1 removed quai (now -a kawpow --coin quai), xelishash and xelishashv2. 1.23.2 (April 6, 2026) removed ethashb3, brought a small Xelis gain on RTX 50xx and fixed memory temperature readings on drivers 595+. Six months without a release still fits the "maintained" status.

Who should use it: NVIDIA rigs on KawPow (Ravencoin, Neoxa, Clore), Ergo, Xelis. Stable, with honest temperature and power reporting.

XMRig 6.26.0

The standard for CPU mining: Monero (RandomX) and its forks. 6.26.0 (March 28, 2026) added RandomX v2 support and sped up RandomX on RISC-V. Releases come a few times a year, which is enough for CPU algorithms. RandomX is also available in the active SRBMiner-Multi and BzMiner (BzMiner optimized it in v100.36 and v100.40), but for a pure CPU rig the standard is XMRig.

Who should use it: any CPU mining. If your rig's processor is idle, run XMRig on Monero in the background.

lolMiner 1.98a: more than a year without a release

Last release — September 21, 2025. Version 1.98 added Cuckaroo-29 for Tari (--algo CR29, 2% fee) and fixed NVIDIA detection on mixed rigs. 1.98a fixed Grin Cuckatoo-32, Conflux and Tari C29 crashes on 6 GB Turing cards.

lolMiner is still good on its own algorithms: ETC, Kaspa (kHeavyHash), Ergo, Alephium, Flux, Beam, and dual ETC + ALPH/KAS. But it knows nothing about 2026 coins: it cannot mine Pearl or Quantus. If your rig runs ETC or Ergo, leave it alone. If you want new algorithms, go with SRBMiner or BzMiner.

Frozen: TeamRedMiner and Gminer

TeamRedMiner 0.10.21 (May 6, 2024) — the best AMD miner of the Ethash era. Its last release added fishhash for Vega and Navi 10/20. On RX 5000/6000 TRM still posts good numbers on ETC, Kaspa and Ergo, but it has never seen RDNA 4 (RX 9000). For AMD in 2026 the default choice is SRBMiner-Multi.

Gminer 3.44 (March 6, 2024) — same story: works on Equihash, KawPow, Ethash, Kaspa, but more than two and a half years without a release. RTX 50xx and drivers 580+ are not officially supported. Our Gminer setup and commands guide remains valid for older rigs.

Abandoned: T-Rex and NBMiner

T-Rex 0.26.8 — October 14, 2022; in a few days it will be four years without a release. NBMiner 42.3 — September 2, 2022, more than four years. Both were built for Ethereum and died with it. If you see a "fresh" guide titled "T-Rex on RTX 4090", it is a 2022 reprint.

⚠️ Important. On current drivers T-Rex and NBMiner may not start at all or may report zero hashrate. Before hunting for the cause in your rig with miner won't start: 8 causes, check the release date. The replacement for T-Rex is Rigel: same range of algorithms, still maintained.

How to check a miner's freshness yourself

Every miner in the table has a GitHub repository. Open its Releases page and look at the date of the top release. The rule is the same as in the table: older than a year — expect trouble with new cards and drivers; older than three years — look for a replacement.

You can also get the latest version from PowerShell through the public GitHub API. Put in the repository path from the link in the table:

[Net.ServicePointManager]::SecurityProtocol = 'Tls12'
Invoke-RestMethod https://api.github.com/repos/doktor83/SRBMiner-Multi/releases/latest | Select-Object tag_name, published_at

Download only from the Releases page and verify the archive hash. SRBMiner publishes MD5, BzMiner publishes SHA-256. On Windows it is one command:

Get-FileHash .\SRBMiner-Multi-3-7-1-win64.zip -Algorithm MD5
Get-FileHash .\bzminer_v100.45_windows.zip -Algorithm SHA256

If the hash matches the release notes, the archive is the one the developer published. If it doesn't, delete it and download again from the official page.

🛡️ Windows Defender will delete the miner right after extraction — expected for every one of the eleven. Add the folder to exclusions first, following Windows Defender blocks miners.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Can I still use T-Rex or NBMiner in 2026?

Technically, on old drivers and old algorithms — yes. Practically there is no point: Rigel and SRBMiner do the same job and are maintained. On RTX 50xx and drivers 580+ the abandoned miners usually won't start.

Which miner is the most universal?

SRBMiner-Multi: NVIDIA, AMD, Intel Arc and CPU in one binary, a wide algorithm list and releases almost every week. If you need a web dashboard and a proxy for a farm — BzMiner.

Is lolMiner abandoned?

Under our rule it is "frozen": no release for more than 12 months, but far from the three-year "abandoned" threshold. On ETC, Kaspa, Ergo and Alephium it works as before. It has no Pearl, Quantus or other 2026 algorithms.

What should I use to mine Quantus on a GPU?

On NVIDIA — SRBMiner-Multi 3.7.1, BzMiner v100.45 or OneZeroMiner v1.7.8. On AMD — SRBMiner or BzMiner; on Intel Arc — SRBMiner. Pools, the QUIC protocol and the wallet are covered in how to mine Quantus on a GPU.

What will happen to Pearl mining on RTX 30 and 40?

Nothing yet: the network runs on the current protocol, and all four active miners support it. But the FP8 scheme in the Pearl code targets RTX 50xx and server cards. Follow Pearl FP8 hard fork for updates.

Why does the miner crash with "out of memory" when the card has enough VRAM?

Most often the Windows page file is to blame, not the card. See CUDA error: out of memory and page file for mining.

How do I find a miner's dev fee?

Check the readme in the archive or the release notes. Examples as of October 3, 2026: SRBMiner — 2% on noid and quantus, BzMiner — 2% on Pearl, OneZeroMiner — 1% on pearlhash and 2% on Quantus, WildRig — 0% on pearlhash.xyz, lolMiner — 2% on CR29, Rigel — 2% on xelishashv3. Fees change from version to version, so check the release on the day you install.
